Hamilton Stern Construction Recognized with AGC NYS 2025 Jeffrey J. Zogg Build NY Award for Lavery Library Project
We are proud to announce that Hamilton Stern Construction, in partnership with St. John Fisher University and HOLT Architects, has received the Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS) 2025 Jeffrey J. Zogg Build NY Award for the recent renovation of Lavery Library. This award recognizes excellence in project management, responsiveness to client needs, innovation in construction techniques, overcoming unique challenges, exceptional service to the industry and the project team, excellence in safety, and contributions to the community. The Jeffrey J. Zogg Build NY Award is one of the most distinguished honors in the construction industry.
The renovation and modernization of St. John Fisher University’s Lavery Library included interior, grounds, and exterior work. Hamilton Stern Construction oversaw the full interior demolition and build-out of 59,000 sf across three floors, including complex utility relocation with the construction of an underground tunnel, extensive site and landscaping work, and exterior work.
As the academic hub of St. John Fisher University, the Lavery Library project was the college’s largest capital investment in scope and scale. Hamilton Stern Construction is proud to have contributed to the development of a vibrant library and student success center that fosters learning, connection, and inclusivity. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of this prestigious recognition, the Jeffrey J. Zogg Build NY Award was developed to highlight the positive impact of the construction industry in New York State, including building and heavy/highway construction. According to the AGC NYS’s website, “Since its inception, the Build New York Award winners have symbolized the best of construction projects in the state.”
