Charles J. Lavery Library

Hamilton Stern Construction was chosen to provide construction management services to modernize and renovate the Charles J. Lavery Library at St. John Fisher University. Located at the heart of campus, the three-story renovation transformed Lavery Library into a modern, student-centered hub. The largest capital investment in scope and size in the university's history, the modernization includes a new public lobby, lounge space for gathering, social stairs, technology-rich classrooms, various study areas, new offices, two entrances, and the preservation of architectural features, all designed to promote gathering and connection. Complex utility relocation with an underground tunnel was completed, along with extensive site work and landscaping to enhance the campus aesthetic. Every detail was carefully considered during the design, construction, and finishing phases to reimagine the library as a vibrant hub and a signature campus icon. Hamilton Stern Construction managed over 30 partners on this transformative project, delivering it ahead of schedule and within budget.
