This Earth Day, Hamilton Stern Construction is proud to share a meaningful milestone for our team, our client, and the communities we serve—Alta Vista at St. Joseph’s Park, developed by Ibero-American Development Corporation, officially achieved PHIUS (Passive House Institute US) Core certification.
PHIUS certification is one of the most rigorous benchmarks for building performance and quality construction. Grounded in climate-specific performance, enclosures, systems, and equipment standards, it ensures that projects are designed and constructed to deliver comfort, safety, affordability, resilience, and long-term durability while significantly reducing environmental impact. Achieving this certification reflects an integrated approach across design, engineering, and construction.
Alta Vista is a 76-unit, six-story new build in downtown Rochester. In an increasingly eco-conscious market, PHIUS certification distinguishes Alta Vista as a forward-thinking, resilient development that prioritizes both sustainability and livability. From performance modeling to material selection and construction execution, PHIUS certification requires collaboration, precision, and a shared vision across the project team.
