St Bernard’s Park Apartments

Hamilton Stern renovated 147 existing apartments across four historically-preserved buildings. An additional 13 new apartments were also constructed in a fifth building. Taking a phased approach ensured that residents always had a place to stay. To preserve the historic buildings’ look and feel, the existing slate roof on the center builders was replaced with true slate, sourced to match the original color and shape. Solar panels were added to the flat roofs on the north and south sides to increase energy efficiency. Finally, extensive site work and renovations to the office and common areas pulled everything together.
